Extended Abstract: Migration and Entrepreneurship in Mexico

چکیده

The Mexican labor force is distinguished by exceptionally high rates of both international migration and entrepreneurship. During the last half-century, large flows of Mexican workers have migrated to the United States. As noted by Hanson (2006), approximately 10% of the Mexican population resided in the United States in 2004. On the other hand, about 25% of the Mexican labor force is self-employed, making Mexico one of the most entrepreneurial countries in the world (Fairlie 2006).
